Hampshire Down

A old native breed that is becoming increasingly popular with commercial producers due to the increase in grain and concentrate prices. Hampshires are very fast growing, topping all other breeds in the signet ram compare project. Rams are hardy and will produce big, fast growing and easily finished lamb from smaller more efficient ewes with a low feed requirement and will maintain their condition well from a purely forage diet.
